The design of my modular sculpture consists of nine separate frames which will be assembled at Broomhill to create the entire piece. I’m now getting to the point where these frames are prepped and each one is being assembled in the studio. Creating sculptures in this way mimics industrial construction methods, but is much more time consuming to do by hand. This is the first major task completed and I’m pleased that so far everything is going well. The only part that I have decided to out-source is the large steel ring which was recently delivered and needed to be done with the aid of specialist steel bending facilities.
